- How does Calorie Genie count calories from a photo?
- Take a photo of your plate and Genie identifies each food, estimates the portion and returns calories, protein, carbs and fat. You can tap any ingredient to adjust the portion or swap it before you save, so the estimate stays honest.
- Is Calorie Genie free?
- Calorie Genie is free to download on the App Store and Google Play. Premium unlocks unlimited meal scans, barcode scans and restaurant menu scans, and you can try it before you are charged.
- Can it scan barcodes and packaged food?
- Yes. Point the camera at a barcode or a nutrition label and Calorie Genie reads the serving, calories and macros, plus a processing level and additives summary so you know what is actually in the packet.
- What is restaurant menu scanning?
- Photograph a menu and Genie ranks the dishes against your goal and what you have left for the day, so you can pick the best option before you order. You can filter by best for you, healthiest or lowest calorie.
- How is the daily calorie target worked out?
- During setup you share your goal, body stats and activity level. Calorie Genie turns that into a daily calorie and macro target you can adjust at any time from Settings.
- What is the journey?
- The journey is a daily path of small quests such as logging a meal, drinking water or adding a progress photo. Finishing steps earns gems, badges and streaks so a healthy routine feels like a game instead of a chore.
- Does it track water and weight too?
- Yes. Log water with one tap, record weigh-ins, and see your history over 7, 30 or 90 days alongside your meals.
- Which languages are supported?
- Calorie Genie is available in 45 languages and works with food from any cuisine, because it recognises the meal rather than searching a fixed database.
- Is my data private?
- Your meal photos are used only to estimate nutrition for you. You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
